JD-VRTAC Intensive Technical Assistance Sites Announced

On October 15, the Job Driven Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Assistance Center (JD-VRTAC) identified 11 state vocational rehabilitation agencies (SVRAs) to receive intensive technical assistance (TA) on four JD-VRTAC topic areas: business engagement, employer supports, customized training, and labor market information.

The goal of the JD-VRTAC is to improve skills of SVRA staff and other rehabilitation professionals and providers of VR services who provide “job-driven” VR services and supports to people with disabilities, employers, and customized training providers. Job-driven services use an approach in which employers and job-seekers are seen as equally important customers in VR service provision.

TA will be based on research-supported and emerging promising practices that have been shown to improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities.

The 11 Intensive TA SVRAs are:

  1. Delaware Division of Vocational Rehabilitation
  2. Illinois Department of Vocational Rehabilitation
  3. Massachusetts Commission of the Blind
  4. Nebraska Vocational Rehabilitation
  5. New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation
  6. New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired
  7. New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation
  8. North Dakota Division of Vocational Rehabilitation
  9. Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services
  10. Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation
  11. Washington State Division of Vocational Rehabilitation

The JD-VRTAC is funded by the Rehabilitation Services Administration, grant #H264A140002.
